New Wheels

I arrived in the lot. Ready to go. Ready for speed. I knew my purpose and I was waiting.
It was three weeks. Three weeks that I sat in that lot until he came. He knew everything about me. Where I was born, who made me, every detail. I fell in love the instant he said “A twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six with around 420 horsepower, sweet deal!”
I learned that his name was Kevin. I knew he was in love with me the minute he saw me too. He sat down in my sleek leather interior heated seat and revved up my engine.
Oooohhh. It gave me chills. I had not felt like this since the testing right after I was born.
Kevin signed some papers and shook the dealers hand and hopped back onto my seat. “Oh baby, let us see what you can do!” He said as we sped off onto the highway and joined up with the autobahn. Our speed was unmatched. We hugged the curves like a man loves a woman. He handled me like a dream. He said “Tonight baby, we have plans” with an evil grin on his face. I was curious as to what he meant.
That afternoon he fed me with the most premium petroleum I’ve ever had. The minutes he was inside the restaurant feeding himself, I waited. Patiently but eagerly to see what awaited us in the evening.
That night we drove to an abandoned airstrip and I knew what was in store. Waiting there for us were several other cars. Shiny. Loud. Old. New. Any era you could think of, there was a car ready to race. Kevin had a fire in his eyes, he excitedly greeted the others there.
After a few moments of joking around, he shook the hands of a few people and began walking back towards me. There was a fire in his eyes and I was excited to experience what was to come. As he got in, people started heading towards the strip. There was a gap of people on the airstrip. We approached slowly. There were four of us heading to a line on the strip. I could see everyone admiring my sleek new body as they crowded around the sideline trying to get as close to us as possible.
Kevin revved me up. The first red light came on. The guy to my right revved up. The second red light came on. The guy on the left revved up. Yellow light. The last car revved up. Yellow light. Yellow light. Green, and we were off.
Kevin shifted me so smoothly from first to second, second to third, and third to fourth. I have never had the wind blow so hard onto me. At first all of the cars were about the same, but then one by one, the other cars kept falling behind. All except for one. The two of us were going back and forth, neck and neck. Then Kevin pushed the gas all the way down and nothing was between us and the finish line.
What felt like forever was only 18 seconds. At the finish line, the crowd behind us looked so small, even though we were only a half mile out. Kevin drove me back and the cheers got louder. He got out and rubbed and tapped my roof and yelled in excitement as the crowd swarmed us. I knew now Kevin would take me to my true potential. I knew this was the guy for me and I was excited for our future together.

Blog November Seventh

I have a horrible time with reading. I know that I wrote a blog once about reading… and obviously like reading. However, occasionally, I have an issue with reading. I just don’t want to. My eyes have a hard time concentrating, my mind has a hard time processing the words, I would rather just do something mindless. I’m sure there is an explanation for it. Too tired, overworked, not interested in the story/bog/book/paper/etc.? It doesn’t happen all the time. Some times I am generally interested in things… I just go through slumps I guess. What brings this up is that I was trying to decide on a new post for the day. I’ve been scarce with my writing lately because well, life is getting in the way. I guess that’s a horrible excuse. But as I was skimming through blogs of the people I’m following for inspiration on a story or post or anything…. I just couldn’t help but think.. “I don’t want to read this.” Nothing against the blogs, just didn’t feel like it. Which is cool I guess, because it gave me inspiration for this post here. I don’t even like to read my own stories before I post them. I edit as I go and just assume it’s what I want to say. I have been thinking that I may want to compile my stories into a book one day, and of course I’ll edit them then. Does this make me a horrible writer? How do you keep yourself motivated?

Recently I’ve started a diet. I’ve had some extra pudge for as long as I can remember and I think it is time to get rid of it. For about every three pounds I’ve lost, I gain back about one. So it’s a struggle, but this is the longest I’ve stuck to it. And I’m determined. Maybe that’s what I need to do with writing. I set myself down to keep track of what I eat and when I exercise. I need to set myself down to write more. Be me more, instead of the work/eat/sleep drone I’ve become. So, I am off to find something to write about and make another post.
